Warranty policy

What each part of your system is covered for, how long, and how a claim actually works. Every claim comes to us, not the factory.

Panels carry a 30-year performance warranty, inverters 10 years, batteries 5 to 10 years depending on the make, and our own workmanship 5 years. You call one number — ours — and we handle the manufacturer. A technician is dispatched within 48 hours in the Western Province.

1. What is covered, and for how long

  • Panels — 30 years performance, 12 years product. Tier-1 panels are warranted to produce at least 86.8% of rated output at year 30, with a 12-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Hot spots, micro-cracks and delamination are product defects; a slow loss of output below the curve is a performance claim.

  • Inverters — 10 years. Inverters we supply carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty against defects.

  • Batteries — 5 to 10 years. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are warranted for the period and the throughput (cycles or MWh) stated on your quotation; whichever is reached first.

2. One point of contact

Every warranty is registered in your name, but every claim comes to CameraLK. You do not deal with a manufacturer, an importer or a courier. We diagnose, log the claim with the manufacturer, arrange the replacement part and fit it. If a part must be sent away, we fit a loan unit where one is available so you keep generating.

3. How to claim

  • Call 077 760 6010, WhatsApp the same number or email [email protected]. Have the installation address ready; we find the rest.

  • Fault calls are acknowledged within one working day. A technician is dispatched within 48 hours in the Western Province and within 72 hours elsewhere.

  • Most inverter faults are diagnosed remotely through the monitoring app before anyone drives out.

  • There is no call-out fee for a valid warranty claim. If the fault turns out to be outside the warranty — a tripped breaker, a rodent-damaged cable, a grid-side outage — we quote the repair before doing it.

4. What is not covered

  • Damage from lightning, flood, fire, storm or falling objects — these are insurance events, and we provide the report your insurer needs.

  • Modifications, repairs or additions by anyone other than CameraLK or a person we authorised in writing.

  • Damage caused by grid faults outside the system, including sustained over-voltage from the utility.

  • Normal wear: panel soiling, cosmetic marks on frames or enclosures, battery capacity loss inside the warranted curve.

  • Roof structures that were not part of our work, including sheets and purlins we did not replace.

5. Performance claims

If your panels produce less than the warranted curve we measure the string output on site with calibrated equipment, compare it against the irradiance data for the period and, where the shortfall is confirmed, lodge a performance claim with the manufacturer. Replacement panels are matched to the existing array. We carry out an annual output check as part of any service contract, and on request otherwise.

6. Transferring the warranty

The warranty stays with the system, not the owner. If you sell the property, tell us the new owner's details and we re-register the manufacturer warranties and our workmanship warranty in their name at no charge.

7. If a manufacturer is no longer trading

We fit equipment from manufacturers with a Sri Lankan distributor and a stock of spares in Colombo. If a manufacturer ceases trading during the warranty period, our workmanship warranty is unaffected and we source the closest equivalent replacement at the best price we can obtain; the labour to fit it is free for the remainder of the original warranty term.

Give us the installation address and what you are seeing on the inverter or the app. Most faults are diagnosed remotely before a technician is sent.
